LLANO — Nestled on the west side of the city of Llano is a rustic venue on 21 acres that serves a dual purpose.
Robinson City Park provides a shaded get-away from the bustle of the city on the banks of the Llano River, but the venue also serves as the site of the annual Llano Crawfish Open in the spring, which packs in thousands of people over several days.
From the traditional open-air pavilion for live music to the nostalgic playground and picnic setting, the park has served as a community and tourist attraction.
Park amenities and more are what motivated The Picayune readers and KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune listeners to vote Robinson City Park as the 2018 Locals Love Us favorite park in the Llano area.
The park’s entrance on RR 152 is located a mile west of the Llano County Courthouse. The park stretches along more than 1,800 feet of river shoreline.
Other features are barbecue grills, a basketball court, a swimming pool, picturesque rock outcroppings, and a community center available for events.
Nearby amenities include the Llano River Golf Course and RV Resort and a rodeo arena.
Tent camping is permitted with a $5-per-person-per-day fee.
For those who enjoy outdoor activities such as bird-watching, hiking and strolling, scenic views, and even horseback riding, Robinson City Park proves to be the spot to enjoy what nature has to offer.
