Burnet’s annual Christmas on the Square is a day filled with holiday fun for the whole family. This year’s festivities are Saturday, Dec. 14, from noon to 8 p.m. on the courthouse square.
The event begins at noon with a parade featuring floats, dancers, high steppers, bands, and Santa.
Shop more than 175 vendors offering holiday crafts, gifts, and foods until 8 p.m.
Live music and entertainment keep the Christmas spirit alive throughout the day, including performances by the Burnet High School Highlandettes, Studio 20 Dance Center, and local musicians.
A Kids’ Zone opens after the parade with free (fake) snow photo-ops, pony rides, a potato slack slide, a petting zoo, a rock climbing wall, and a train that circles the square. Families can take photos with Santa and/or the Grinch from 1-4:30 p.m. for a minimum $5 donation, which supports Operation Heroes Unite for kids battling life-threatening illnesses.
A sleigh and giant teddy bear will be set up on the square for more picture-perfect memories.
The always-popular bicycle raffle for ages 2-11 starts at 4:30 p.m. Nearly 80 bikes will be given away. Registration is open from 1-4 p.m. near the stage. Children must be present to win.
