Play in the snow (no matter the weather), listen to live music, shop over 175 vendors, enjoy a parade, and visit with Santa Claus from noon to 8 p.m. Dec. 9 at Christmas on the Square, the Burnet Chamber of Commerce’s annual holiday celebration in the city’s historic downtown.

Festivities kick off with a parade that begins near the Burnet Community Center on East Jackson Street and travels south around the square before heading back to the center.

A snow slide and snow play area are open from 12:30-4 p.m. 

Photo ops abound, including a sleigh you can sit in and a giant teddy bear you can cuddle. Both Santa and the Grinch will be available for pictures.

Children ages 2-11 can sign up from noon to 4 p.m. to win a bicycle. Registration for the age group drawings takes place at the chamber trailer by the Pierce Street stage. Ticket holders must be present at the 4:30 p.m. drawing to win. All winners will be fitted for a free helmet from Ascension Seton Highland Lakes Hospital.

Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome at the holiday celebration. Food will be available at the food court at the corner of East Jackson and Vandeveer streets.
