There is something special about Creekside Camp and Cabins in Marble Falls that can be felt as soon as you step foot on the property: It has heart.
“We built everything ourselves,” said Diane Cornelison, who purchased the property with her husband in 2001. “We felt like this was such a beautiful property and really wanted to share it with people. That was the motivation behind everything.”
Stay in the Victorian Cottage, the Firehouse Cabin, or the Mexico Cabin — each designed and decorated according to its name. While the cabins have different atmospheres, they are all equipped with a kitchenette, a fire pit, barbecue grills, and private patios.[image id="22191" title="Creekside Camp and Cabins"] The Victorian Cottage is small and sweet, a favorite of visitors to Creekside Camp and Cabins. The Firehouse is filled with firefighting equipment the Cornelisons acquired in a storage auction.
Everything built at Creekside Camp and Cabins was done on a shoestring budget. Cornelison is an expert when it comes to estate sales, garage sales, thrifting, and antiquing. She is also a very creative interior decorator.[image id="22190" title="Creekside Camp and Cabins"] The Firehouse Cabin at Creekside Camp and Cabins is filled with firefighting equipment and memorabilia, decorated by the Cornelisons. Besides the themed guesthouses, visitors can stay in the Cedar Cabin, which has the best view on the property. Big groups can choose the Grand View House, which comfortably sleeps up to 15 people.
The property backs up onto Hamilton Creek, which is perfect for swimming and fishing. Bright green grass stretches across the lawn, which is shaded by tall cedar trees. The property is so peaceful you can’t hear much except for chirping birds.
