The new Johnson City Market on the Square kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on the courthouse square at 101 E. Pecan Drive. Shop dozens of vendors, refuel at food booths, and vibe to live music during the event, which is the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

The former Johnson City Market Days event was held on the fourth Saturday of the month at Memorial Park on U.S. 290.

The downtown street market is a joint project of the Johnson City Chamber of Commerce and Main Event Co., which promotes other Highland Lakes-area events such as Market Day on Main Street, Main Street Car Show, and FiestaJam, all in Marble Falls, as well as GraniteFest in Granite Shoals.

“(The Johnson City) event is a rebranding of the long-running Johnson City Market Days, which outgrew its original space at the park on Highway 290,” said Jay Brown, founder of Main Event Co. “The goal is to recharge the legacy event, to help build the downtown district into a vibrant destination, and capture the increasing amount of traffic passing through Johnson City on the way to other nearby destinations, including the 290 Wine Trail.”

Johnson City Market on the Square will host an ever-changing lineup of vendors selling artisan and handmade products, arts and crafts, jewelry, clothing, vintage items, and fair-style food.

Admission and downtown parking are free. For more information, visit johnsoncitymarket.com or maineventcompany.com.
