Highland Lakes communities shine during the season with dazzling lights displays that capture the magic of Christmas. Plan a trip to one or all of these festive spots and soak in the holiday spirit.

Walkway of Lights

Nov. 21-Jan. 3 
Lakeside Park, 305 Buena Vista Drive in Marble Falls

Families and friends can stroll the sparkling paths of Marble Falls’ Walkway of Lights, which is open 6-10 p.m. nightly through the season. Leashed dogs are also welcome. While there, warm up with hot chocolate or grab a sweet treat from the concession stand, operated by local nonprofits. Santa will make an appearance on Fridays and Saturdays before the big day. Admission is $2 a person.

Christmas at Quarry Park

Quarry Park in Granite Shoals transforms into a twinkling winter wonderland with dazzling lights illuminating every path and tree. This enchanting display runs nightly through Jan. 3, offering the perfect holiday backdrop for family outings and cozy evening walks. Admission is free.

Take in the lights of Wallace Riddell Park starting Thanksgiving Day. Then, on Nov. 29, head for the Burnet County Courthouse for the Lighting of the Square. Enjoy hot chocolate, holiday photo-ops, and downtown shopping from 6 p.m. to midnight that Saturday.

This festive display illuminates the banks of the Llano River from 6-9 p.m. nightly at Llano’s popular Badu Park. Admission is free.

Lights Spectacular

Downtown Johnson City

Johnson City is nicknamed “The Twinkliest Town in Texas” for its multiple light displays. The Old Blanco County Courthouse and downtown area sparkle with more than 2 million bulbs, while Pedernales Electric Cooperative joins the fun by wrapping the numerous trees at its headquarters, 201 S. Avenue F, with blue and white lights—another 1.6 million bulbs ablaze. Enjoy festive food and drinks as well as carriage and tractor rides on certain days.
