Dealing with tickets, evictions, and small claims court can be stressful, but Burnet County residents can rely on Madeline Parker to help them navigate the processes. A clerk for the Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace, Parker is a friendly face behind the counter and on the phone lines in the South Annex in Marble Falls, and her community loves what she does.
Parker was voted Favorite County Employee for the Marble Falls area by The Picayune Magazine readers and KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune listeners in the 2025 Locals Love Us contest.
“People are typically not the most happy when they call here because there is some sort of problem,” she said. “Hopefully, we can help them be able to find the best solution for them.”
Parker assists with the caseload and mountains of paperwork in the JP office and also takes calls and fields questions from Burnet County residents about a variety of legal matters going through the court.
She was born and grew up in Burnet, graduating as a Bulldog before heading off to Midwestern State University for her undergraduate degree and the University of Toledo College of Law in Ohio for law school. She has been back in Burnet since 2022 and working for the Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace in Marble Falls since 2023.
“I like the community; I like that it’s still a small town,” she said. “You can go to the grocery store and run into 10 or 20 people and be able to talk and know everyone.”
Parker hopes she has been a pleasant presence in the JP’s office for those who have needed her help over the past two years.
“People don’t always know that they can ask for help,” she said. “We can’t give legal advice, but we can help direct them where they need to go.”
Also winning Favorite County Employee were Blair Manning (Burnet County) and Eddie Martine (Llano County).
