Burnet rings in the holidays Saturday, Dec. 13, with Christmas on the Square, a full day of festive, family fun. The celebration runs from noon to 8:30 p.m. on the historic courthouse square.
The event blends holiday and hometown spirit, showcasing Christmas classics like Santa and the Grinch alongside talented students from the Burnet school district.
The day begins with a Christmas parade featuring St. Nick, a performance by the Burnet High School Highlandettes dance team, and floats from local businesses and groups. The procession starts at the Burnet Community Center, proceeds down East Jackson Street, passes through the square, and then returns to the community center.
A market with over 175 vendors is open from noon to 8:30 p.m., offering the perfect opportunity for local Christmas shopping or grabbing a bite to eat.
The free Kids Zone operates from 12:30-4:30 p.m. and includes train and pony rides, a petting zoo, and a Christmas maze.
After the parade, Santa and the Grinch will be on the square. Take a photo with the jolly ol’ elf in front of the town Christmas tree from 12:30-4 p.m.—but keep an eye out for the gift-snatching green meanie!
Stick around for a bicycle raffle at 4:30 p.m. at the main stage. Registration and tickets are available from 12:30-4 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce trailer, located on Pierce Street. Children must be present to win.
Visitors can also pop over to Burnet’s Main Street Bethlehem and Christmas at Old Fort Croghan while they’re in town for Christmas on the Square.
