Take some time this spring to learn about the history of the Johnson Settlement and view the starry night sky of the Hill Country with two special outdoor programs hosted by the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park in March.

The two events, a Johnson Settlement walking tour and LBJ Ranch stargazing opportunity, will be free and open to the public.

The Johnson Settlement Walk will be hosted at 11:30 a.m. on March 7, 14, and 21, and will provide guests with a 45-minute walking tour through the home of President Lyndon B. Johnson’s grandparents.

Guests are asked to meet with a park ranger at 11:30 a.m. at the National Park Service visitor center in Johnson City on the aforementioned dates. No reservations are required.

Peering into the universe beyond, Night Skies Over the LBJ Ranch will begin at 7:30 p.m. on March 21, inviting Junior Rangers of all ages the opportunity to earn a Junior Ranger Night Explorer patch. From 8:30-10:30 p.m., following the Junior Ranger portion, the Hill Country Astronomers will set up telescopes and open star viewing to the public.
