Mark Independence Day during red, white, and BOOM events across the Highland Lakes. Celebrations feature spectacular fireworks shows, live music, fun on the water, and patriotic camaraderie.
While you’re out and about in the July heat, refresh and cool off at a local watering or swimming hole.
Here’s where you can celebrate the Fourth of July in the Highland Lakes:
July 2-5
Kingsland AquaBoom
The biggest bang takes place in this small Lake LBJ community with several days’ worth of fun and new in 2026, the first-ever AquaBoom Carnival. The 50-plus-year-old AquaBoom features parades, a patriotic costume contest, vendors, pageants, tournaments for golf, washers, and horseshoes, and much more. A fireworks show launches on July 4 over the lake. The best spots to watch are Wakepoint LBJ at 14757 RR 1431 West and Boat Town Burger Bar at 151 Melodie Lane.
Go to kingslandaquaboom.org for a full AquaBoom schedule.
A pre-AquaBoom-featured fireworks show is July 3 at Wakepoint LBJ. A cornhole tournament kicks off at 3 p.m. at the venue.
July 4
Marble Falls Fourth of July
The celebration begins with a free pool day at Lakeside Pool, 305 Buena Vista Drive, from noon to 5 p.m. Music kicks off at 7 p.m. with party band Dysfunkshun Junkshun and food trucks are in place ready to serve. Fireworks spark off at 9:15 p.m.
Should you want to view the show from the lake, boats need to be on the lake before 5 p.m. as there is a partial lake closure from 5 p.m. to midnight near the fireworks launch zone.
Go to visitmarblefalls.org for more information.
Horseshoe Bay Resort fireworks
You can watch the resort’s annual display, starting at 9:30 p.m., at several locations along the eastern shoreline of Lake LBJ. Resort guests and members get VIP seating. The show is also easily seen from the lake.
Krause Springs fireworks
The 115-acre campsite and natural springs park at 424 CR 404 in Spicewood welcomes everyone to its free fireworks display, which begins after sundown. Arrive before the gate closes at 8 p.m.
You can also see the show at Spicewood Elementary School, 1005 Spur 191, and along County Road 412.
Call Krause Springs at 401-236-7554 for more information.
Johnson City Fourth Fest
The most patriotic event might be Fourth Fest, which takes place in the hometown of President Lyndon B. Johnson. A parade is at 10 a.m., starting at LBJ High School, 505 N. Nugent Ave. in Johnson City, and traveling south to East Pecan Drive, Avenue E, and East Cypress Street.
Live music kicks off at 6 p.m. Fireworks launch at 9 p.m. from Johnson City Community Park, 620 E. Nugent St.
July 1-4

The Llano community is going all out for its Fourth of July celebrations, with days of events, contests, and more leading up to its big Independence Day party on the Llano River.
Patriotic events begin July 1 at 5:30 p.m. with Texas historian, author, and photographer Ben Friberg’s lecture on his series “Born of Rebellion: Inspired by Liberty: The Common Causes of the United States, Texas and Mexico”. The event is free to attend and hosted by the Llano County Historical Commission and the Llano Fine Arts Guild, 503 Bessemer Avenue.

A free, patriotic performance, “In their own words”, is slated for 7 p.m. on July 3 at the Lantex Theater, 113 W. Main Street.
On July 4 the city hosts America 250 on the Llano River at Badu City Park, 300 Legion Drive, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. The day is filled with games, contests, parades, vendors, food, music, and fireworks.
