The Hill Country Community Theatre in Cottonwood Shores stages several special productions during its 2025-26 season, including odes to iconic singers, songs, and Shakespeare.
The events alternate each with the HCCT’s Season 40 lineup of plays.
The special schedule starts with “A Night with Karen Carpenter” on Nov. 8-9. The concert celebrates the iconic voice of the 1970s songstress with hits such as “Superstar” and “Top of the World.”
The HCCT’s seasonal fundraiser is Jan. 10, 2026, and features the retro music of The Vinyl Stripes. The Texas trio of musicians perform surf guitar-soaked rockabilly songs from the 1950s and ’60s by artists such as Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, and Buddy Holly. The fundraiser for the nonprofit theater includes food, drinks, and a silent auction.
On March 7, magician Zak Mirz returns to the HCCT with his new show, “Kid at Heart.” The all-ages production unveils a fresh mix of comedy and jaw-dropping illusions.
Behold the Bard! “A Night with William Shakespeare” on March 14-15 brings to life scenes from the works of one of history’s greatest playwrights.
On May 2-3, Lakeway-based vocal group AKA presents its new spring show, “The Greatest Generation: Songs of the ‘40s,” a tribute to the big band hits and wartime ballads that captured the spirit and resilience of the era.
This season’s special events lineup ends with the HCCT’s youth production of Disney’s “Newsies Jr.,” featuring a Tony Award-winning score and a cast of young local performers.
All special productions are at the Hill Country Community Theatre, 4003 FM 2147 West in Cottonwood Shores. Go to thehcct.org/season-40 for details.
