The Llano Earth Art Festival is turning over a new LEAF as a “reunion of a lifetime” for artists and spectators to honor the spirit of the now-defunct event and possibly help revive it in the future.
The LEAF reunion is March 28-30, 2025, on the banks of the Llano River at Grenwelge Park, 199 E. Haynie St. in Llano, where the festival and world rock-stacking championships took place starting in 2015. It was canceled in 2024 due to a lack of funding from Llano County, volunteer interest, and community support.
The festival featured earth artists and rock stackers from around the world, live music and entertainment, camping, vendors, and more.
Organizers announced the event’s reincarnation in a Facebook post on Jan. 26. Plans for the reunion are still in the works but include art exhibitions and free family fun. Earth artists near and far, new and skilled are invited to bring their supplies and creativity to the Llano park the last weekend in March to show their love for nature and LEAF.
“Whether you’re a seasoned artist, simply want to get your hands dirty or just want to be a spectator, this is all about coming together to honor the spirit of LEAF and the magic of artistic expression in a laid-back, relaxed atmosphere,” the LEAF Facebook post reads.
Reunion organizers are crowdfunding the event. Those who donate $100 or more will receive a 2025 LEAF Reunion T-shirt. Sponsorships are available.
