Cool off in Highland Lakes pools and splash pads

When Texas turns on the heat, the Highland Lakes turns on its splash pads and opens its pools. Try them all, pick your favorite, and keep your cool in Marble Falls, Burnet, Bertram, Llano, Cottonwood Shores, and Johnson City. 

Highland Lakes pools are open for summer 2023 in:

MARBLE FALLS

Absorb the sun’s rays and enjoy a view of Lake Marble Falls at the Lakeside Park swimming pool, 305 Buena Vista Drive. It is open from June 7-Aug. 13, 2024. Hours are 3-7 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Admission for ages 3 and older is $3 for city of Marble Falls residents and $4 for non-residents. Toddlers and infants can splash around for free. Frequent swimmers can save money with a 20-visit punch-pass at $48 for residents and $64 for non-residents. 

The main pool ranges from 3-11 feet deep and has a diving board and slide. A wading pool is one foot deep.

BURNET

Pools are open year-round at the YMCA of the Highland Lakes at Galloway-Hammond, 1601 S. Water St. (U.S. 281) in Burnet. Water features include two heated indoor pools, each with a diving board, and an inflatable obstacle course.

BERTRAM

The city of Bertram pool at the E.B. Goodwin Pavilion, 601 W. Vaughan St., is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. It is also open for night swimming on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-8 p.m.

LLANO

The pool at Robinson City Park, located on RR 152 in Llano, is open Tuesday-Sunday for regular swims from 1-7 p.m. and lap swims from noon to 1 p.m. Water aerobics is 7-8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Kids can also cool off at the Matt and Doraliza Raglin Splash Pad at Badu Park, 300 Legion Drive.

COTTONWOOD SHORES

The Cottonwood Shores Splash Pad, 4111 Cottonwood Drive, is open from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. daily through the summer. While the kids play, adults can cook on one of the two grills near the pad to cap off a day full of fun in the sun at Community Park, which also has a playscape.

JOHNSON CITY

The city pool, located at 101-259 Old River Crossing, is open to the general public from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday starting June 1, 2024. Adults-only swim is from 7-8 p.m. 

Admission for ages 4 and older is $2 for Johnson City residents and $4 for non-residents. It is $2 for non-residents ages 3 and younger. Residents ages 3 and younger get in free.
