For relaxing fun and a little competition, try disc golf. Instead of clubs, balls, and holes, you have flying discs and baskets. Check out these courses:
- Flat Creek Disc Golf Course, 24912 Singleton Bend East in Marble Falls—This championship-level course designed by John Houck is for players of all ages and skills. Go to flatcreekenoteca.com.
- Haley-Nelson Park, 301 Garden Trails Drive in Burnet—A nine-hole course at a city park. Go to cityofburnet.com.
- Hill Country Fellowship Disc Golf Course, 200 Houston Clinton Drive in Burnet—The 18-hole course is open seven days a week from sunup to sundown except during church services. Call 512-756-8796 or go to hcfburnet.org.
- Iron Wolf Ranch and Distillery, 101 CR 409 in Spicewood—Along with great libations, Iron Wolf offers an incredible nine-hole disc golf course. Plus, it has bocce ball, cornhole, washers, and life-size pong. Go to ironwolfranch.com.
- Westside Park, located at the intersection of Second Street and Avenue Q in Marble Falls—Check out the John Houck-designed, front nine holes and then explore the back nine added in 2017. The city-owned park offers a good mix of lengths and even some elevation changes. Go to ci.marble-falls.tx.us.
- YMCA of the Highland Lakes at Galloway-Hammond, 1601 S. Water St. (U.S. 281) in Burnet—Spend a day on this 18-hole course. Go to ymca.org/locations/burnet or call 512-756-6180.
