Highland Lakes communities light up with dazzling holiday displays, brightening nights and lifting spirits. Plan your visits to the following festive spots and experience a bit of Christmas magic.

Walkway of Lights

Now in its 34th year, Walkway of Lights is charging admission for the first time. The cost is $2 per person. Over 130 light sculptures with more than 2 million lights are erected along Lake Marble Falls in Lakeside Park. Take a stroll with family and friends and enjoy the festive displays as they sparkle off of the lake under the lights of the U.S. 281 bridge. Santa drops in to hear kids’ wishes every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until Christmas. The event runs 6-10 p.m. nightly, weather permitting.

Lights Spectacular in Johnson City, “The Twinkliest Town in Texas,” is a must-see holiday display with over 2 million lights illuminating the historic downtown, Memorial Park, and Pedernales Electric Cooperative headquarters. Arrive before sunset to explore the charming shops, enjoy local food, beer, and wine, and soak in the festive atmosphere. Lights will shine from dusk until midnight!

Trail of Lights

Start your holiday adventure in Burnet at Wallace Riddell Park at Texas 29 East and Rhomberg Street, where vibrant light displays and a glowing tunnel create perfect photo-ops. Make your way to the Burnet County Courthouse, 220 S. Pierce St., to see animated and still displays along with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Finish your journey at Hamilton Creek Park on West Jackson Street, where the lights reflect off of the water for a stunning view.

Starry, Starry Nights

Dec. 2-31
Badu Park, 300 Legion Drive in Llano

Wander the twinkling winter wonderland in Llano’s Badu Park while sipping hot chocolate. Starry, Starry Nights, set up along the Llano River, is a perfect spot for Christmas photos and family fun. The lights are on from 6-9 p.m. each night. Admission is free.

Christmas at Quarry Park

Quarry Park, 2221 N. Phillips Ranch Road in Granite Shoals

Quarry Park is transformed into a Christmas village during Granite Shoals’ annual lights display. Visitors can park, walk through the displays, and even enjoy hot chocolate and cookies if the weather cooperates. This free event is sure to delight all ages.
