2020 Locals Love Us Favorite Band/Musician: Brandon Alan

Brandon Alan collects guitars, and each one is special.
“Guitars are different,” explained Alan as he sat with guitar in hand on the Lake Shores Church stage, a place you can find him many Sunday mornings. “Every one sounds different; they have a different tone. You might play the same note, but there’s a different tone.”
It’s a nuance that might be lost on the average person, but not Alan. Music is a big part of his life, from his days as a session player in Nashville to today as a singer-songwriter and worship leader in the Highland Lakes.
The Horseshoe Bay resident was voted by The Picayune Magazine readers and KBEY 103.9 FM Radio Picayune listeners as their Locals Love Us favorite band/musician for the Kingsland/Llano area.
Alan and wife Amber McHose settled in the Highland Lakes a few years ago. McHose is executive director of Harmony School of Creative Arts in Marble Falls. 
In the Highland Lakes, Alan found a place to write and play music within driving distance of wherever he needed to be. “Right here, I’m not far from Houston or Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin,” he said. 
Alan releases an original song at least every three to four months. Many have landed in the top 40 on Texas music charts. He’s gathered a great group of musicians to tour in support of his work and plays most Sundays at Lake Shores Church in Marble Falls.
He also has a “residency” gig at Horseshoe Bay Resort and has performed during the Marble Falls Music Fest as well as other events and venues. He’s comfortable performing in front of thousands of people or in more intimate settings.
Wherever Alan sits down, pulls out a guitar, and starts singing, he’s right at home.
