Autumn in the Highland Lakes arrives with seasonal events, even though temperatures haven’t quite left summer behind. But you can pick a pumpkin and pretend it’s 30 degrees cooler!

Here are some favorite 2025 fall festivals in the Highland Lakes of the Texas Hill Country:

HARVEST OF FALL FUN

Mid-September through late November

Pick pumpkins, stuff scarecrows, and meander through corn mazes during Sweet Berry Farm’s Harvest of Fall Fun. Admission and parking are free; you pay per activity. See the full list of fall fun on the farm’s website.

TASTE HIGHLAND LAKES

1-5 p.m. Sept. 20

Sample the best of local food, wine, beer, and more from a variety of vendors in a festival atmosphere. The Kingsland Chamber of Commerce event benefits Kingsland Community Park renovations. Purchase tickets at the link.

ALBERT PASTURE PARTY

2-10 p.m. Sept. 20

Country legends Little Texas and Pam Tillis headline this laidback, throwback party in a pasture. The festival takes place in Albert, a tiny town that’s big on music. The icehouse/dancehall hosts well-known performers almost daily. Check out the Pasture Party lineup and purchase tickets at the link.

LLANO TEXAS MUSIC FEST

Sept. 26-27

This two-day festival features popular names in Texas country, including headliners Josh Weathers and Silverada (formerly Mike and the Moonpies). Gates open at 2 p.m. both days; the music starts at 4 p.m. The event, which benefits Llano County youth groups, also includes a golf tournament on Sept. 27. Learn more at llanotexasmusicfest.com.

OATMEAL FESTIVAL

Sept. 27

Downtown Bertram

This festival literally put the town of Oatmeal on the map. The quirky event has since moved to nearby Bertram and expanded. Activities include parades (with one for pets), the Run for Your Oats 5K, a washer tournament, the Kids’ Play Zone, an oatmeal bake-off, and a street dance with live music by Texas country artist Jarrod Birmingham.

TEXAS MARIGOLD FESTIVAL

Oct. 31-Nov. 2

Downtown Blanco

Blanco celebrates Día de los Muertos with an ode to the marigold, the seasonal and spiritual flower that decorates altars honoring lost loved ones. Visit a marigold farm for tours and an old-fashioned barn dance, shop vendors on the historic Blanco County Courthouse square, and enjoy crafts, workshops, food, and live music.
